Hush, hush.

But I can’t keep the lid on the recent Apple Keynote and it’s latest announcements! Anyway, new iPhone aside, here’s something that my class have been working on for Manga Drawing. We have to create a single comic page or illustration based on our stories respectively. This is mine:

Enjoy. : 3 Done with acrylic, color pencils and artline pens on plywood.

Work In Progress-Jason’s gift

I made my cousin a very happy birthday boy. In a literal sense of speech.

(:

I’ll color it with watercolor and pass it to him once we meet again. My first (complicated) line art! Which is probably not that complex compared to others, but meh.

EDIT: I forgot to mention about the outlines of wings that I did and eventually removed them for the final outcome. Well, I think the wings were tacky. -.- And I was pressed for time, so yeah.

EDIT II: Thanks to Kitsune, I changed the date below. o_o I always get the date wrong at the beginning of the year, pardon.

Multi-researching

I  was looking around for an example of cabin crew uniforms to refer to for our next storyboard, and I so happen to stumble across some really excellent ones on Flickr!

This image is from here, of Air Portugal. They look so pro! For a split second I figured that it would be worth it to join their crew just to wear the uniform…  I can be so absurd at times.

This one (image from here) is from Brussels Airlines. I love the uniforms as well! The red scarf works well with being not so flashy yet professional, and I agree with the photographer that it’s good to know that the women get to have the option of skirts and trousers-though you know which one I would gladly prefer.

And this is not related at all: I decided to check out one of Tony DiTerlizzi’s inspirations Arthur Rackham. Turns out that his art is just as cool (yet kind of creepy in a way fairy art always is).

Hiatus over

It’s sort of considered a hiatus, as this 5-day absence is really long for my standards, although I’ve a couple of things to mention here. But now I sort of forgotten what is it exactly I’ve been itching to blog.

Sod that.

I’ve been immersing myself in the great Tony Diterlizzi’s artwork. He is brilliant, so is Holly Black, hence their books are brilliant. Pardon the misuse of the word ‘brilliant’ and the fan-gushing, but it’s true! It’s one of the few novel series which I really adore and admire for the art and writing. I’m debating if I should get Tony’s book Arthur Spiderwicks Field Guide to the Fantastical World Around You. It’s filled with brilliant (again) watercolor illustrations. Or should I get the Okami book? Hmm, ruminations.

Catching ideas as they pass by

I want to buy all the books and make a library. I'm not taken, but maybe my soul is.
